Women in Food: Luisa Obando of DellaCasa Pasta

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month, we are celebrating women in our food community that are helping to make Texas, and the world, a better place.

Luisa Obando started making fresh pasta at home using traditional techniques and natural ingredients. The goal of her company, DellaCasa Pasta, is to provide everyone with the experience of what pasta should really taste like. What started out as a way to provide her family with wholesome food has become Luisa’s passion.

Cause That’s Near And Dear To You:

Keep Families eating together and healthy. Families are too busy to prepare a wholesome, fresh, delicious meal,  We understand, and that’s why we make our delicious Pastas, Sauces and Raviolis so easy to prepare. After a busy day providing for your family, you shouldn’t have to worry about cooking an entire meal,  leave dinner to us! A healthy, natural meal in minutes, and it tastes great. The best part…you don’t have to worry about whether you are serving your family the best, you’ll know you are!

Why It is Important To You To Support Women in the Food Community:

The food community allows women to have a career, in many cases own their own businesses, provide for their families and have the flexibility to be moms and be part of their kids lives. That is my case and the case of many other single moms I’ve had the privilege of meeting in this industry. I’ve owned Della Casa Pasta, a fresh pasta manufacturing company for 5 years now and as an entrepreneur I can’t think of a better industry to be in. I have met so many single moms like me in the industry and believe that there are many opportunities for more women to help build an even stronger food industry in Texas and build a strong and profitable career for themselves. We women put our hearts in what we do, we are hard workers and we value quality food. That is why I strongly believe in the importance of women for the growth of our industry.”
