VOXHolidayThe holiday season has arrived, and two Austin–area restaurants are getting into the yuletide spirit with a seasonal collaborative dinner eventVOX Table, the New American restaurant opening at the beginning of 2015 in the Lamar Union community complex in South Austin, and Noble Sandwich Co., Central Texas’ popular gourmet sandwich eatery, will host A Very VOX Holiday @ Noble Sandwich Co. This special six-course dinner event ($70 per person), which includes a collaborative menu and complimentary cocktails from Austin’s Treaty Oak Distilling Co., takes place on Thursday, Dec. 18, beginning at 7 p.m., at Noble’s North Austin location, 4805 Burnet Road. And in the true spirit of the holiday season, portions of the proceeds from the dinner event will benefit the local Toys for Tots charity.
This unique dining experience will feature menu courses devised and created by Noble Sandwich Co. chefs and co-owners John Bates and Brandon Martinez, as well as VOX Table Executive Chef Joe Anguiano. The feast’s first course, prepared by Noble Sandwich Co., includes Beet Carpaccio served with a buttermilk bleu cheese dressing, toasted nuts, chicory salad, radish, endive and escorol. Chef Anguiano’s second course features a seasonalRoasted Chestnut Soup with licorice root and herbed croutons, followed by Chef Anguiano’s third course, Black Grouper with a vegetable cassoulet and a decadent red wine and lobster coral sauce. Noble chefs Bates and Martinez will prepare the fourth course, a savory Bone Marrow Budino served with mushroom bacon, a Meyer lemon sauce and a watercress and frisée salad. VOX Table’s fifth course is a Roasted Duck Breast served with a cabbage and leek confit, and sweet and sour strawberries. The final course includes an indulgent dessert ofWhite Chocolate and Allspice Mousse with pomegranate gelée, grapefruit-walnut granola and florentine tuile, prepared by VOX Table Pastry Chef Allison Henschel.

In addition to feasting on this collaborative chef-created meal, event guests will be treated to complimentary spirits from Treaty Oak Distilling Co., including a welcome punch, three cocktails throughout the dinner and a dessert-paired cocktail.
