Know Your Farmer: Gray Gardens

Tucked among giant live oaks on Main Street in Buda, Texas is Gray Gardens, a family-owned farm that’s been in operation for over 20 years. We spent a recent morning with the farmers and volunteers as they prepared the week’s harvest for the markets. Read more about the Farm, meet the folks and farm dogs at Gray Gardens, and be sure to add their delicious peppers and more to your next Farmhouse order. Gray Gardens is owned by the Gray Family and has been an integral part of the Buda Farmers Market.

On non-market days, you can stop by Gray Garden’s farmstand, situated just next to the driveway into the farm. The farmstand is cash only and operates on the honor system.

Tinkerbell and Carl are the resident farm dogs at Gray Gardens.

Gray Gardens relies on regular volunteers to help with various tasks around the farm, including sorting tomatoes in preparation for the weekend farmers’ markets.

Taylor, seen here sorting tomatoes, started out as a Gray Gardens volunteer before she came on as a full-time employee almost 6 months ago.
